The Personal Lines Account Executive (AE) plays a lead role in generating new business for the organization as well as business retention.
This role involves building relationships with prospective clients, assessing their insurance needs, and offering a personalized insurance product such as auto, home, condo, renter and other personal coverage.
This individual is driven, self-motivated, has a strong sales aptitude, is client-focused, and passionate about building relationships to help clients achieve peace of mind with their insurance choices.
You would be responsible for:
- Meeting your annual sales target
- Assess and underwrite policies to meet the individual client’s needs
- Liaise with Underwriters and insurance partners
- Attend networking opportunities
- Continuous training and skills development while staying on top of industry trends
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business, or related field or college diploma in insurance brokerage (i.e. CAIB, CIP or RIBO) is preferred. A combination of education, skills and experience will be considered.
- Level 1 Agent License or working toward.
- 3-5 years of Broker experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a sales role.
- Client-centric mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and solutions that meet clients’ evolving needs.
- Proven experience in personal insurance sales, with a track record of meeting sales targets, or other insurance experience where performance metrics were met or exceeded.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a proven track record of managing high-value client accounts.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify growth opportunities, develop sales strategies, and ensure consistent revenue generation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, insurance software and CRM systems (e.g., Applied EPIC).
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, time management and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and sales cycles simultaneously.
- Ability to explain complex insurance products in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to support both strategic and day-to-day operations.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to address client concerns, handle objections, and secure favorable terms for both the client and the company.
- Self-motivated, with a strong drive to succeed in a competitive environment.
- Experience with various insurance carriers and personal lines products.
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Some travel is required.
- Networking at group insurance events is expected.
- Conducting presentations and meetings is required. (in person / virtual and formal /informal)
- Some overtime is expected due to the nature of the role. Regular office hours are 8am to 4:30pm AST.
- Remote/Hybrid work environment availability. Participation in regular in office environment required.
Work Location
- Fredericton or Moncton, in-office.
- Hybrid option within 12 months of employment.
